In 2022, over 600 hate crimes were reported to the NYPD. The Partners Against the Hate (PATH) initiative is a collective effort of local community organizations aimed to prevent hate violence against vulnerable communities in New York. In addition to government assistance programs, La Colmena can assist with safety planning and provide support on how to report a hate crime to law enforcement or provide guidance and services.
La Colmena is a nonprofit community-based organization working with day laborers, domestic workers, and other low-wage immigrant workers in Staten Island through organizing, education, culture, and equitable economic development.
