The Art Therapy Project focuses on art therapy as an essential tool to ease the effects of trauma. Memories of trauma may be difficult to access through traditional talk therapy, making the non-verbal, creative process of art therapy a unique support. Art therapy can help develop language to process traumatic events, as well as improve interpersonal skills, reduce stress, and achieve personal insight.
The Art Therapy Project is a nonprofit providing group art therapy in a safe inclusive space for people in need of mental health services. Clients feel connected and inspired while exploring their personal journeys, increasing their self-awareness, and improving their quality of life.
