Freedom Agenda is a member-driven project of the Urban Justice Center, and the convener of the Campaign to Close Rikers.With survivors of Rikers and impacted families leading the way, the campaign seeks to reduce the number of people in New York City jails, defend the rights of people who are currently incarcerated, divest from systems of punishment, and invest in resources that meet people’s needs like housing, healthcare, education, and employment. By doing so, the campaign seeks to create true safety for our communities.
