The Harmony Program brings high-quality FREE music education directly into underserved communities across New York City by providing students with ongoing, year-round opportunities through in-school, afterschool, summer, and weekend programs. Our program offers a pathway that connects our community-based instructional programs to ensemble opportunities across the city. The Harmony Program puts the joys and many benefits of collaborative music-making within reach of all of the city’s young musicians, regardless of their locations and financial circumstances.
Despite New York City’s thriving cultural scene, countless youth have limited access to musical instruction, and those who are able to study often lack ongoing and affordable opportunities to progress. The Harmony Program is working to change that by harnessing the power of collective music-making to help children gain important life skills and facilitate meaningful peer connections. They provide community-based music education in New York City to a diverse population of children often underrepresented in classical music.
