This spring, BLOC is piloting the Next Generation Financial Justice Internship Program (Next Gen) for Bronx youth ages 16-24. Next Gen will provide financial literacy and entrepreneurship classes to Bronx youth, as well as pair the youth with local business owners and entrepreneurs. This PSA will both help BLOC connect with Bronx business owners and entrepreneurs to set up the hosting of interns and mentoring of Next Gen participants and contribute to narrative change that reinforces the worth of Bronx youth and local businesses to each other.
The Bronx Leadership & Organizing Center (BLOC) was launched two years ago as a partnership among the Bronx Defenders, New Settlement, and East Side House Settlement. The coalition aims to sustainably lift families out of poverty and to promote dynamic leaders who will aim to change the public conversation around social and economic mobility. They focus on youth & workforce development, health & wellness, and housing through both the work of a Community Advisory Council and collaboration amongst over 45 organizational partners.
This PSA was developed through the Nonprofit Co-Lab.
