In New York City, voters have the right to bring an interpreter with them to the voting booth. The NYC Civic Engagement Commission (CEC) will be providing interpretation services in select languages at nearly 110 poll sites across the city! Organizations can use CEC’s multi-language Voter Language Assistance Digital toolkit, complete with PSA, sample messages and graphics, to get the word out. PSA and graphics are available in 11 languages including: Arabic, Bengali, Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese), French, Haitian, Korean, Italian, Polish, Russian, Yiddish, and Urdu. More information about voter rights is available on Participate.nyc.gov.
Established through a successful ballot measure by New York City voters in 2018, the NYC Civic Engagement Commission (CEC) is charged with promoting civic trust and strengthening democracy in New York City.
